WHAT DO YOUR SHOES SAY ABOUT YOU?

I recently took my Son to the Monterey Aquarium. Lunch options are few for Parents trying to feed their cranky 2-year olds just prior to that much needed nap. In search of food options, we ended up at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company which is based off of the Forrest Gump movie that many of us grew up loving. Outside of the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, there is a bench with the appopriate box of chocolates and rose. On the ground in front of the bench are oversized shoes for you to place your feet in and take a souvenir photo.

As Forrest once said “My Mamma always said you can tell a lot about a person by their shoes, where they going, where they been.” Isn’t this true? As a Foot and Ankle Specialist, it is part of my job to look at peoples’ shoes. It does say so much about you as a person outside of style. As I tell people regularly, it is extremely important to wear the right shoes. Whether you are running in the upcoming Dipsea Race (I’ll see you there!) or going to a wedding, you need to wear the right shoes for your feet. This is even more important if you are struggling with an injury or if you have pain in your feet.
