Ajitha Nair, DPM, MPH
Board-certified foot and ankle specialist Ajitha Nair, DPM, MPH, is dedicated to providing high-quality foot and ankle care for the Bay Area’s busy, active, and diverse community. Dr. Nair believes that foot and ankle health is integral to being able to move and movement is integral to being in and maintaining your best health. Dr. Nair treats patients from all different backgrounds and athletic experience levels at her podiatry practice, Propel Foot and Ankle in Oakland, California.
Dr. Nair is truly inspired by her patients — the active, educated, and motivated members of the Bay Area. She enjoys spending time with them to answer questions and provide information to help them make informed decisions. Dr. Nair’s goal as a foot and ankle specialist is to care for patients with a fusion of evidence-based and state-of-the-art medicine.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in nutritional science at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Dr. Nair completed her Master of Public Health degree at Tufts University in Massachusetts. She then went on to get her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at the California School of Podiatric Medicine after which she completed a three-year residency at Geisinger-Community Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Nair has a passion for education and giving back to her community, so she returned to California where she joined the faculty at her alma mater. Dr. Nair is an active volunteer and educator in her community.
Dr. Nair offers comprehensive foot and ankle care for active people of all ages, including pediatric patients. She treats a broad spectrum of sports injuries, including plantar fasciitis and tendonitis. She also helps patients manage arthritis of the foot and ankle.
